Energy Advisory Board
Mission
Mines’ Energy Advisory Board will provide strategic guidance as Mines continues to grow its global reach and impact. With a unique blend of expertise in energy minerals, fossil fuels, carbon management, hydrogen, geothermal, nuclear, and integrated power systems, alongside strengths in community engagement, environmental management, energy markets, and policy, Mines is exceptionally positioned as a leading energy university. We value the Board’s input as we refine and implement a dynamic, integrated strategy to address the world’s increasing energy demands.
Purpose
- Assist with strategic planning and tactic development to advance Mines’ position as a leading energy university.
- Ensure that Mines’ educational programs align with the evolving needs of industry, government, and academia within the energy sector.
- Ensure that Mines’ research programs align with the evolving needs of technological advancement.
- Assist with fundraising for Mines energy initiatives in cooperation with the Mines Foundation and program leads.
Composition
- The Advisory Board will be comprised of leaders from industry and government agencies actively working in energy sectors.
- Any program faculty or Advisory Board member may nominate a potential new member. Advisory Board members may also be asked to recommend candidates to address specific expertise or sector gaps as needed.
